Alcove at The Caldwell House
Gazetted as a national monument in 1990, Caldwell House is one of the oldest buildings in Singapore. Its neoclassical style design is one of the few surviving works of renowned architect, G.D Coleman. The Grand Gallery on level 2, renamed Alcove is managed by Watabe Wedding Singapore. With its unique semi-circular exterior and large Doric columns supporting a vaulted timber ceiling, Alcove features air conditioning, is well furnished and suitable for small parties of about 30 to 100 guests. Its modern furnishing allows room for versatility, bringing an elegant new venue for intimate weddings and cozy events! Not Forgetting, there is a prepared comfortable suite, fitted with all the necessities for the bride’s use. This exclusively private room for the bride can be used as a changing and makeup room or just a quiet sanctuary for the bride to reflect on the day’s events.

The backdrop of Caldwell House is a perfect meeting between luxury and heritage, fittingly designed for romantic beginnings. Among Aclove’s most distinct features includes the dome, that still bears its original French inscription, ‘Marche en ma présence et sois parfait’. Other words, which means “Walk along with me and be perfect”, are simply made for weddings.

The lush Lawn, set against the majestic backdrop of CHIJMES Hall, is perfect for all occasions such as open movie cinematics or even hold a intimate wedding – the charming ambience outdoors offers you the flexibility of having both al-fresco gatherings and sheltered events on the sprawling green right in the heart of CHIJMES.
